Homer is in business for himself (Homer L. Yates Insurance Agency), and Jean
works in the office, also. When Homer is not working, which most people
say he never does, he is busy doing projects with his computer, like what
you are reading now. Jean likes to oil paint. She is well known for
paintings in the Hayfork area. Jean also likes to play the keyboard and
play with her African Grey Parrot, Petie. Petie can talk and lets you know
when he is mad. Our pet dog Brutus, is a full blooded Shar-Pei and loves people.
If you are thinking about moving your home or business, think about
Hayfork. For years Hayfork was a lumber town. This year the mill shut down
for good. We lost about 150 good paying jobs. Hayfork will not die as
some have said. Hayfork has too much to offer, such as clean air, good
water, good neighbors and all the other goodies some towns would like to
offer. Myself and others would like to see small business such as computer
related companies settle in the area. If you have this kind of business
lets talk about moving here. We have good phone lines, UPS, Federal
Express, and Airborne Express serve the area also.
If you want the best in country living Hayfork is the place to be. Before
I became an insurance broker here, I worked in the pipeline field. I have
been in all counties in California, and I think Trinity County is the best
place to live. We like the idea of being in the country, but not out of
reach of the big city. We are only an hour and a half drive to Redding, CA.
and about the same to Eureka,CA. It is a beautiful drive to either place
if you have to go.
If you ever come up give me a call, and I'll be happy to show you why I live
in Hayfork.

We live next to the Hayfork Creek and this is the view from the living room window.
Petie most likely will have something to say.
