The Trinity County Fair is held during the weekend preceding Labor Day weekend each year. The Fair is the largest event of its kind in Trinity County. Offering something for everyone, the Fair includes the diaper derby for the youngest, the seniors' birthday party for the oldest, and all kinds of activities for those of us in between.
The original Fairgrounds entrance. This photo was taken in 1921. The "old Fairgrounds" was located where Hayfork Elementary School is now.
One of the biggest highlights of the Fair is the "Junior Livestock Auction," where young people from all over the county show and sell their livestock. There is everything from chickens to steers.

The Small Animal Barn displays chickens, turkeys, rabbits, and other animals. Families bring their children here, and for many it is a real pleasure to see these small animals up close.

Members of the 4-H, FFA, and others spend hundred of hours looking after their animals and wait for this day at the fair to show off their hard work.
For many people this is a place to see old friends and to catch up on the latest happenings after taking in the sights of the Fair.
What would a Fair be without a Ferris Wheel? This is the place the kids have the most fun.

Linda Brainerd of Hayfork is seen with the quilt she made and entered in the fair. She took top honors with this design.
